    We’re planning EDGE24 to add sharpness to your leadership and build the brotherhood of leaders in South Texas! To make EDGE time well spent, we’ve planned classes and activities that you’ll enjoy no matter when you can arrive. Bring your entire outpost leadership team and make a weekend full of memories!

    No matter how new or experienced you may be at mentoring future men, you’ll have multiple chances to take new and skills information away from the conference. For the first time ever, we’re hosting a Basic Archery Instructor course through NASP during the day on Friday to give interested leaders the skills they need to safely and successfully incorporate archery activities into their outpost. Both Friday and Saturday offer a large variety of new, relevant classes featuring “subject-matter experts” in many areas of adventure, skills, leadership, strategy, and Ranger ministry.

    Leader Training

District Level Training

Ranger Foundations is an online or a combined online & hands-on classroom experience that teaches new leaders the foundational principles of how to run successful outpost meetings, how to use & access the Royal Rangers curriculum and advancement system, program structure, uniforms, and much more.

Ranger Essentials is a one-day fun, interactive-style training event. You will learn how to connect with today’s boys, along with recognizing ministry needs and outreach opportunities. You will discover how to give life-changing devotions and how to mentor boys and young men into spiritual leaders.

The Ranger Safety training course is completed by completing both the "Ranger Safety" course, either through a district class or online, AND a nationally recognized First Aid/CPR certification course. The First Aid/CPR course may be completed through any nationally recognized qualified organization such as the American Red Cross, the Green Cross, or the American Heart Association. The course must include demonstration and evaluation of the skills learned in a practical exercise in front of a live instructor.

National Training

World Class Outpost is designed to expose the outpost leadership team to a successful set of practices, methods, strategies, and tools that will enable them to develop into a "World Class Outpost". The greatest benefit of this event is achieved when the outpost/church leadership attend and complete this event together as a team.

National Rangers Ministry Camp gives instruction in basic outdoor skills and activities providing leaders with the skills needed to take their Ranger boys on exciting outpost activities outside their normal weekly meeting times. Also, leaders will be challenged to connect with God and explore spiritual manhood.

National Elementary Education Conference is an interactive event that gives leaders training in various techniques and methods to effectively teach and mentor boys. Leaders will explore the development and needs of the early elementary age group, with Ranger Kids as the main focus.

The Johnnie Barnes Excellence in Ministry and Leadership Initiative will challenge leaders who hold or hope to hold positions of service on the district, regional or national levels to embrace habits and techniques of continual improvement to increase ministry influence and effectiveness.

National Academy is a national seminar designed to train recommended leaders to become instructors and staff members for national training events.

Advanced Academy is a national seminar designed to equip recommended National Academy Graduates for the specialized leadership roles (Director, Senior Patrol Leader, Coordinator, Chaplain, and Audio/Video Technician) for national training events.
